As an avid City Paper reader and one who is active in politics and in the city, and Ward 6 in particular, I have been concerned about Loose Lips’ coverage of the Ward 6 council race. I find it odd that both Sharon Ambrose’s and George Stallings’ campaign activities have been mentioned several times, but there has been absolutely no mention of the current Ward 6 school board member Benjamin Bonham. Ben announced his candidacy for the council seat during a well-attended kickoff rally on May 15.
Hey, Loose Lips, you wouldn’t be trying to influence the Ward 6 council contest by ignoring the other incumbent elected official in the ward, now would you? Ben Bonham is the only proven vote-getter in this race. Sharon Ambrose and George Stallings ran in a special election, with a small turnout. Would it be too much to ask that you be fair in your coverage and provide your readers with accurate information they can use to make an informed choice on Sept. 15?
