In response to Amanda Ripley’s

article “Fish in a Barrel” (9/11), I would like to say that mayoral candidate Carol Schwartz has an excellent idea when she states, “I would like them [ticket-writers] filling potholes.” I would, too. If we ground them up and mixed them with a little sand and mortar, they would do the job nicely. Meter maids could be the solution to other District problems: hungry homeless?
