I am sending this letter concerning the recent article (“End of Quest,” 9/25) in the City Paper. This was a good article on Tribe and also on KRS-One. But I just wanted to bring to your attention that there is one more old-school rapper who is hardly mentioned: my man Keith Elam, aka Guru of Gang Starr. To me he has never got the recognition that he deserves. I feel that he is one of the most positive rappers today. Not only are the lyrics on point, but he has been keeping it real since No More Mr. Nice Guy, the first album. If you could feature him in one of your articles I think that you will find that he has been strongly overlooked over the years. Keep up the good work.
