I am writing to correct errors in “Digital Busybodies” (10/2). Mount Pleasant’s Police Service Area (PSA) 410’s Web site was created and is maintained by me with the help of Cmdr. Dave McDonald and our PSA’s Sgt. Chris Yezzi. Cmdr. McDonald, who was previously assigned as a captain at the 4th District, continues, without fail, to provide me with weekly and monthly crime statistics for our PSA Web site. No funds were ever raised or used for the support or operation of the Web site or for our Mount Pleasant e-mail forum. Sgt. Robert Parker never started any listserve or any community e-mail in Mount Pleasant. I do not provide officers with any online access. In fact, Sgt. Chris Yezzi provides this community with his own personal e-mail address, which is posted on the PSA 410 page. This allows the people of Mount Pleasant a vehicle by which to communicate with our PSA sergeant and has proven to be successful.

Our e-mail forum began almost two years ago with the hard efforts of our forum manager, Robert Fraiser. The e-mail forum is for Mount Pleasant residents only and provides them with a valuable resource for sharing many other types of community information besides police issues. My business, LC Systems, donates server resources for both the Web site and the listserve as a community service.
