Go-go godfather Chuck Brown’s just-issued Greatest Hits on Raw Venture/Liaison features 11 slices of his friendly, blues- and jazz-soaked funk. The collection, which features some nice old photos but perfunctory liner notes, begins with his 1979 national hit “Bustin’ Loose” and continues on through his recent rendition of “My Funny Valentine.” Brown is currently planning a European tour for the spring.
