The Graverobbers, Washington’s most eclectic roots band, are becoming Karl Straub and the Graverobbers, and will be releasing their first CD since 1994. Singer-guitarist Straub says the purpose of the name change is to highlight his role as the group’s songwriter. Their third album, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, was recorded two years ago with the production team of Derryberry & Alagia. While finalizing negotiations with a small, unnamed label that Straub says wants to put it out, the band has begun recording here and in Nashville on a fourth effort. (SK)
