I just wanted to thank Michael Schaffer for pointing out everything that’s gone wrong across the Line in the land of strip malls and suburbanites (“Loco in MoCo,” 11/27). It’s about time someone took a humorous and sarcastic look at our dear neighbors, who have done nothing but criticize us D.C. residents for scandal and urban dysfunction over the past 10 years. All of them—whether they live in Montgomery, P.G., Arlington, or Fairfax—need to realize that we can laugh condescendingly at their follies just like they’ve always laughed at us. At the end of the day, we’re the ones living in a great city while they’re stuck in what Schaffer so correctly calls “a wasteland inside a cul-de-sac of a hellhole of suburban ennui.” Right on!
