Food for Thought has been serving up delicious food and music for over 25 years. It’s presented performances from all genres, from folkies like Mary Chapin Carpenter to punk kids Savage Boys and Girls Club, as well as hosting the D.C. Blues Society’s Sunday night jams for the past 10 years. So it’s a blow to all of D.C.’s music scenes that the place is closing. Tonight, several artists will gather to say thanks to the place for providing such an eclectic stage. The bill includes the Starland Vocal Band’s Bill Danoff, Mary Chapin Carpenter collaborator John Jennings, and FFT regulars Lisa Walker and Robert Lighthouse. At 6 p.m. at Food for Thought, 1758 Connecticut Ave. NW. $10. (202) 797-1095. (Tina Plottel)
