Your cover story “Film Strip” (1/15) was yet another exercise exploiting the life of the stripperan issue I’ve seen featured numerous times in contemporary media. As a feminist theorist, I’ve learned that many aspects of the sex industry are, in fact, an exploitation of male sexuality. Women are merely playing the roles in male fantasies while reaping copious financial rewards for their efforts.
The tired old exposition of compelling these strippers to explain to us just why they strip could be replaced by some provocative questions: What drives a male customer into abusing his sexuality and his bank account? Does this lead into any degradation or shame that we assume only the stripper might experience underneath her “flimsy rationale”?
