Having lived around the corner from Ellen Wilson for the past 12 years, I have absolutely nothing but praise for Amy Weinstein’s design of the new town houses and Corcoran Jennison’s vision for the new community. The people that Laura Lang interviewed (“Dream City,” 4/16) may wish for the “good old days,” but personally, I got a little tired of the trash, robberies, and solicitation by prostitutes, panhandlers, and the like that accompanied this rose-glasses historical fantasy. Gee, imagine tenants having to show that they can pay the rent and don’t intend to commit crimes, and basically agreeing to remain productive citizens—I know it’s a stretch, but, what the hell, it’s our money after all, right?
