NBC4 political reporter Tom Sherwood jumped right in when Mayor Anthony A. Williams opened up the floor for questions at his weekly press conference May 5. “Is it true you’ve issued a sponge-rubber clipboard?” Sherwood asked Williams, referring to the mayor’s appointment of Deputy Chief of Staff Norman Dong—who “assaulted” Office of Property Management Acting Director Kenneth Kimbrough with a clipboard last February—as interim city administrator. Williams failed to respond, but Dong smiled and corrected Sherwood: “The term is ‘Nerf.’”
