City Paper is not for tourists
I read, with incredulity, the comments made by Jack Evans concerning the difficulty he has getting to the mayor (“The Big Choke,” 7/2). Well, perhaps now he knows how it feels to get the runaround in the form of lukewarm canned responses. After all, his office is a master at it. During the mayoral election, I sought assistance from Evans’ office on a matter concerning mismanagement in the Metropolitan Police Department. At the time, he was chair of the D.C. Council’s Judiciary Committee. All I got from his office was a voice-mail apology from an aide, who said he was struggling with law school. Needless to say, I never got the help I sought. I can hardly wait for the D.C. Council race so that I can tell this story at every forum Evans shows up at.
