I read with great interest the story by Stephanie Mencimer about the great lengths people will go to to extend the life of their pets (“Boondoggie,” 7/9).

I did, however, want to correct one error. She states there is no health insurance for pets when in fact there are at least two companies that specialize in pet health insurance. You can buy coverage for everything from regular care to additional riders for cancer treatment.
