A Streetcar Named Santa Nothing ticks off Metrobus riders more than the all-too-frequent bus refrain “Not in Service.” Last Friday, though, passengers standing at bus stops around Judiciary Square got snubbed by a procession of buses bearing a different message: the silver glitter, ornaments, and candy canes of the Christmas season. The buses—including one that most likely roamed the streets when Walter Washington was mayor—were participants in a Metro holiday decorating contest. “They look great,” remarked one onlooker. “But too bad they’re empty.”
