Dublin on the Potomac? Sometimes it seems that way, with all the Irish activity going on in the D.C. area. There’s an Irish pub on almost every street corner, and there are possibly as many Irish musicians, dancers, and activists as there are in Ireland itself. Celtic Thunder was one of our area’s longest-lived Irish folk bands, appearing regularly at nightclubs, pubs, and festivals and recording several albums. Several former members—accordionist Terry Winch, percussionist Jesse Winch, flutist Linda Hickman, fiddle player Patrick Ourceau, and guitarist and vocalist Dominick Murray—have teamed up to form a new band called the Narrowbacks. Tonight’s concert, wrapping up the Irish Arts 2000 festival, is the group’s debut appearance. The jigs ‘n’ reels begin at 7 p.m. at the Arts Club of Washington, 2017 I St. NW. $15. (202) 675-3042.
