Your opera reviewer wasted half his space telling us about the plot of I Puritani (“Altar Egos,” 1/21). Most of who bother to read an opera review already know about opera plots. Puritani’s plot is about as good as a Grade B Hollywood effort. In other words, it is on a par with about 80 percent of most current movies. Next time, can you tell us more about the performance itself, not opera trivia?
