SUNDAY
Wang, dang, sweet Poona the Fuckdog is coming to town. The District’s very own impresarios of the irreverent, Cherry Red Productions, are burping up a one-night-only staged reading of playwright Jeff Goode’s 1999 off-Broadway hit, Poona the Fuckdog and Other Plays for Children. Directed by Cherry Red Artistic Director Ian Allen (of Cannibal Cheerleaders on Crack and Baked Baby fame) and starring drag empress Lucrezia Blozia as “the show’s titular everymutt” and Richard Renfield as her fairy god penis, this parody of children’s theater is not intended for children. It may not be appropriate for some adults, either—unless your memories of childhood make South Park’s sailor-mouthed students seem as guileless as a bunch of Vienna choir boys. At 8 p.m. at the Metro Cafe, 1522 14th St. NW. $10. (202) 675-3071. (Amanda Fazzone)
