It probably wouldn’t be fair to say that everybody who goes to gallery events is in it for the free eats—but they’re right up there with the see-and-be-seen inducement. So Warren Errol Brown is definitely onto something with his choice of location for his “Cake Open House.” And “Cake is art,” the government attorney/radical baker notes. But you may not want to be seen with raspberry puree dribbling down your chin. And you’ve got to have an affinity for the avant-garde to appreciate “I’m Sassy”—the mango-and-cayenne-pepper concoction that “literally changes flavor” in your mouth, according to Brown. He presents samples of at least eight of his anything-but-minimalist summertime treats at 2:30 p.m. at Rivaga Art & Framing, 1612 U St. NW, Suite 102. Free. (202) 332-4607. (Caroline Schweiter)
