Skepticism is a necessary attribute for practicing any area of the law. If skepticism weren’t necessary in society, a good deal of the law would not be necessary.
That Johnny St. Valentine Brown Jr. (“False Witness,” 7/21) had such a run as an expert witness before being brought to light shows that many intelligent, well-trained, experienced people lack the crucial inherent traits they need to do their jobs properly.
Many now practicing in the court system should ask themselves if they truly have what it takes. A great deal of damage follows in the wake of incompetence no matter how smart, well trained, or experienced one is.
