On July 27, the Washington Post ran a front-page story on Lynne Cheney, the wife of Republican vice presidential aspirant Dick Cheney. A week later, on Aug. 2, the paper published a correction. “A front-page profile of Lynne Cheney on July 27 misidentified the college she and her husband attended; it was the University of Wyoming.” The next day, Aug. 3, the Post ran yet another correction, attempting to correct the first one: “In fact, the story was correct in stating that she and her husband did graduate work at the University of Wisconsin,” it read. Now if you still don’t get it: For the record, Lynne Cheney got a B.A. from Colorado College, an M.A. from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. —Elissa Silverman
