The makers of Ocean Oasis: Baja California and the Sea of Cortez call their subject “the richest sea in the worlda sea within a desert within an ocean.” So make a mental note to appreciate that unique ecology when watching the local premiere of this IMAX extravaganza, which was funded by the San Diego Natural History Museum and Mexico’s Pronatura. You can even ask a question about it during the Q&A session after the screening. And seriously, they wouldn’t make IMAX films if environmental awareness were any match for the sight of a manta ray the size of a Metrobus barreling right into your face.
