You might remember Lary Hoffman from such roles as these: Passing-Grade Galaxy Hut Bartender, in the Fox 5 report on fecal matter transgressions at local nightspots; Spirited Indie-Rock Guy, sweating it out behind the keyboards in a giant papier-mâché Marge Simpson mask at last year’s really big Halloween party; or Quintessential Arlington Scene-Maker. But his greatest role of all is recording and performing as Aerialist. Hoffman dazzles with high-flying eclecticism and densely layered pop soundscapes, all orchestrated around one unspoken theme: If it’s electronic and makes noise, Hoffman can probably create something beautiful with it. The real Troy McClure continues his legacy of Arlington exploits tonight at the excellent new outdoor concert series in Clarendon Park with recent split-7-inch partners the No-Gos. At 7 p.m. at Clarendon Metro Park, Wilson Boulevard and N. Highland Street, Arlington. (In the event of rain, the show will move to Now! Music and Fashion, 3100 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington.) Free. (703) 528-9059. (Colin Bane)
