Congratulations on your very good article on nursing homes in D.C. (“Before Their Time,” 10/27). My only quibble: The story claims that almost anywhere else in the country this individual would receive support and services. Unfortunately, not true. In some places, services would be readily available; in most, such as here in southern New Mexico, even if all the services and housing were available (they are not), most likely there would be a long waiting list to obtain them.
