Can you imagine life without coffee? Some of us are doomed to live javaless livesyears ago, my doctor told me my stomach couldn’t handle the stuff. For years, I abstained from the deep-black, pungent elixir, but then Seattle-born Starbucks Coffee Co. opened its first branches in my town. Upon discovering Italian espresso, Jamaican Blue Mountain, and Hawaiian Kona, I could no longer resist coffee’s call. (Note to Mom: I only drink it in moderation, OK?) But with so many varieties of joe around, which goes best with what foods? Starbucks started my coffee conundrum; tonight, in time for Thanksgiving, it presents a solution: “Holiday Entertaining With Coffee” seminars take place at two locations. From 4 to 6 p.m. at Starbucks Chinatown, 800 7th St. NW; and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Starbucks New York Avenue, 1401 New York Ave. NW. Free. (202) 296-7200. (ND)
