The Rev. Donald Robinson, director of the mayor’s Office of Religious Affairs, has a record of responsiveness that seems to rival the best of his executive-office colleagues’. Every month or so, Robinson’s office receives the Alamo Christian Ministries’ World Newsletter. The ministry is run by Tony Alamo, who has spewed anti-Catholic venom and served time in federal prison for tax evasion (City Desk, 9/22). Nevertheless, for the past few months, Robinson has been sending back a nice personal note to Alamo, which Alamo goes on to reproduce prominently in his next newsletter. “Thank you again, for your commitment to Jesus Christ and your dedication to humanity,” wrote Robinson most recently. “God Bless you my dear friend and may you continue on your pilgrimage of spiritual growth and enlightenment.” —Elissa Silverman
