Last night, I awoke in my living room to the sound of Conan O’Brien. Whew. If I’m not careful this holiday season, I might be snapped to consciousness by Zuzu: “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.” You see, I’m probably the only living person in America who’s never seen It’s a Wonderful Life. And I’m determined to keep it that way. Whenever I spot Jimmy Stewart on the tube this time of year, I flip the channel, just as I would if he were Hannity or Colmes on Fox News. Yeah, I might be missing out on The Man Who Knew Too Much or Rear Window, but I can’t take the risk. So you sure as heck won’t find me today in Georgetown, where Karolyn Grimes, the actress who played young Zuzu, will be telling adoring fans about her wonderful life at 2 p.m. at Movie Madness, 1083 Thomas Jefferson St. NW. Free. (202) 337-7064. (Elissa Silverman)
