The Washington Historical Society canceled its “tellebration” last Saturday, in which D.C. residents were to come and share their memories of snow days in the nation’s capital. The reason? It wasn’t predictions of white dusting the city, but a little history in the making: the presidential inauguration. “A lot of people called and said, ‘I’d like to come, but I want to watch the inauguration at home,’” says curator Jill Connors. The society plans to reschedule for a less historic day. —Annys Shin
