SATURDAY

Break out the Bakunin. Crack open the Kropotkin. And get out the Gramsci. It’s time for the D.C.-Baltimore Anarchist Conference, where local devotees of the black flag will meet, greet, and plot for upcoming demonstrations. Targets include the Free Trade Area of the Americas, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. Though anarchism in America may be more of a tendency than a specific program, that won’t stop these smash-the-state-ers from tying it all together with a big J’accuse and plenty of papier-mâché puppets. Just don’t forget to bring your black bandanna. If there’s any official starting time, it’s 2 p.m. at the University of Maryland’s Stamp Student Union, University Boulevard and Adelphi Road, College Park. Free. (703) 276-9768. (Garance Franke-Ruta)
