There was once a group named the Pharcyde/To hear them folks had to take a Bizarre Ride/Through the hills of L.A. to a ‘hood called Silver Lake/Was their LabCabinCalifornia full of Delicious vinyl in crates/Amidst B-Boys, B-Girls, DJs, and graffiti/Were those cats Slimkid Tre, Booty Brown, Fatlip, and Imani/They had dreadlocks and rocked shelltoes and were hella fly/But somehow all the girls kept on passing them by/So they burned some more trees and changed up their sound/And in their next video they were in reverse running around/They got dropped from their label and their fame went asunder/Until they released an independent EP and proved still to be a wonder/The Pharcyde play with Ugly Duckling at 8:45 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $15.
