It’s as if McDonald’s advertised a “Grease Feast” featuring juicy burgers, glottis-clogging Filet-O-Fishes, impossibly succulent Chicken McNuggets—not to mention crispy fries—all served in the din of a tan-tiled, plastic-tabled box. That is, there’s nothing new except the gimmick; you’ll go if you like grease. But, in this case, it’s Al Tiramisu advertising a “Festival del Formaggio” featuring four courses of cheese-flavored, cheese-covered, or cheese-derived dishes, not to mention the antipasto—”Luigi’s Cheese Fantasia”—all served in the cozy, romantic atmosphere of a Dupont Circle trattoria. There’s nothing new about ricotta gnocchi with tomato sauce, or creamy risotto with Taleggio, or grilled salmon with Stracchino and chive sauce. And we’ve all seen beef filet with Gorgonzola and a Barbera reduction done to death. But you’ll go if you like cheese—and we all do, don’t we? At 7 p.m. at Al Tiramisu, 2014 P St. NW. $80.
