It’s months before football season, Cal Ripkin’s retiring, D.C. United has traded two of its best players…what’s a Washington sports junkie to do? Try a night with the Washington Mystics, the city’s WNBA franchise. It could be your best sports offering of the summer. The team’s loaded with talent, led by all-stars Nikki McCray and Chamique Holdsclaw. Of course, this is Washington—just because the team’s got talent doesn’t mean it’s got game. With seven straight losses (as of Tuesday), the Mystics head into tonight’s game against Olympic gold medalist Natalie Williams and the Utah Starzz with a 2-8 record. That makes them almost as bad as the Wizards. Oh well, at least it’s air-conditioned. See one of the worst teams in the WNBA East play one of the worst teams in the WNBA West at 7 p.m. at the MCI Center, 601 F St. NW. $8-$37.50. (202) 432-7328. (Stephanie Mencimer)
