Patrick Tracey’s portrayal of David Niblack (Taking a Powder,” 6/29) is a gross distortion of the truth.

Dave was seriously overweight; he had had a minor stroke with a full recovery a year prior to his death. He had never had a heart attack. He drank infrequently and moderately, and never smoked.

A major contributing factor to Dave’s death that Tracey missed was stress—the stress of representing clients like Tracey who took up a lot of time, wouldn’t follow advice, wouldn’t avoid trouble, and rarely bothered to pay their bills.

Our family is profoundly disturbed by Tracey’s inaccurate portrayal.
