FRIDAY

John Leguizamo is hilarious even in the shower. On a recent weekend evening, I rented The Pest and laughed so hard at the movie’s opening sequence—Leguizamo lathering and singing and grooving—that I played it two more times the following day. If you’ve never seen this very smart comedian (who also happens to be a great actor) perform, I suggest you get out and catch him live at the Warner Theatre. His one-man show Freak was a huge hit, earning him Tony Award nominations for best actor and best play, and an Emmy when it was directed by Spike Lee as an HBO special. Animated, clever, and vigorously engaging, Leguizamo is not to be missed. He goes on at 8 p.m. at the Warner Theatre, 13th and E Streets NW. $36.50-$44. (202) 783-4000. (Jennifer Agresta)
