MONDAY
Some folks say that Washington has no style. And although I’m not fond of the Banana Republic-clad homogenity that fills the bars of Adams Morgan, it has become clearer in recent years that people here do take fashion seriously. People like Washington Post fashion writer Robin Givhan, who is known for deft criticism and fresh, intelligent commentary on collections, designers, models, and first ladies alike. Washington may not come close to New York’s famed scene, but it turns out that we do have a few fashionistas of our own. Givhan gives a talk on the upcoming collections for fall at 7 p.m. at the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s Hammer Auditorium, 500 17th St. NW. $15. (202) 639-1770. (Maori Karmael Holmes)
