Just finished “Members Only” (8/3) by Ayesha Morris and felt as if I were reading a high school book report. The point of this story was…? What did characters like Edward “Cincinnati Red” Larker or Roland “Bruiser” Swingon say that was so eye-opening or insightful? Sounded to me like the same old stuff my grandfather (and probably Morris’) used to tell me when I was a kid: “When I was younger we used to…blah, blah, blah.”
Instead of”Members Only,” perhaps the story should have been titled “The Big Yawn.”
