I just finished reading your cover story about Fredericksburg, Va. (“Ground War,” 7/27). I just want you to know that I enjoyed it. I hadn’t seen a Washington City Paper in a few years (I didn’t live here), and I grabbed one downtown after I saw your story on the cover. It interested me, so I picked it up. Most of the time, writers are not thanked for their stories, but I decided to write to you and tell you how much I enjoyed yours. I have no burning feeling about the Civil War or housing construction, but I found your balanced story very enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
