When copies of the District of Columbia Public Schools’ (DCPS) “Master Events Calendar” for July and August arrived at the Washington City Paper office on Aug. 15, staffers cursed the U.S. Postal Service for late delivery and an entire lost July of fascinating DCPS events. A subsequent postmark check revealed, however, that the calendars were sent on Aug. 13 and 14, affording only 16 days of actual use in the $1.39 apiece mailings. Richard Byrne
