In Glenn Dixon’s review of the Sigur Rós show at 9:30 Club (“Heroic Strokes for Bows,” 10/5), he refers to Jimmy Page’s use of a bow as an act that “show[s] him continuing to think like a plectrist.”

A “plectrist”? Whom is Dixon

The essence of good writing is clarity, which is something the Washington City Paper almost always achieves. I’m disappointed that one of your fine editors didn’t strip that silly word out of the review. The English language is rich enough to describe without baffling.
