Kiss ‘n’ Ride parking lots, garden apartments with no plants, Rockville Pikethe suburbs are indeed scary. So don’t dillydally on your next foray out to Montgomery Mall: Ghosts have been spotted wandering Old Georgetown Road. According to the Maryland Ghost and Spirit Association, there are at least nine other spots in Montgomery County where you might have an otherworldly experience. In Poolesville, for example, two teenagers killed in a car crash rise up from a nearby lake when passers-by honk their horns; the teenagers approach the cars and knock on the doors as bright headlights flash and then disappear. So make sure to keep the minivan doors locked when you drive up to the Old Baptist Cemetery for the Montgomery County Historical Society’s “In Search of Ghosts” evening of storytelling. After walking by candlelight to the Beall-Dawson House, you’ll have the bejabbers scared out of you, until you’re placated with hot cider and ginger cakes. Don’t fear the Reaper at 7, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, or 8 p.m. Meet at the Old Baptist Cemetery, W. Montgomery Avenue and Route 28. $10. For reservations call (301) 762-1492. (Elissa Silverman)
