Mountain Dew is at fault for our hyper society. Or at least that’s what they’d have you believe. In any case, X-treme caffeine-fueled kiddies and their parents have helped bring out the upper-craving carnivorous monster in all of us. Torture-chamber game shows, toothy wide-angle close-ups—hell, jumping out of an airplane Keanu Reeves-style (sans parachute) is hardly even scary anymore. And tattoos? Forget about it: Even Janice Rosenblatt has a little rose on her shoulder. So though you probably won’t see any dirty sailors or rotten bikers at tonight’s Unique Body Art Fashion Show—which highlights tattoos, body piercings, and clothes that “work around” your particular form of expression—be sure to look for perky teens, tiny flowers, and my friend Josh’s mom. The fun begins at 9 p.m. at Lewie’s, 6821 Reed St., Bethesda. $5-$10. (202) 667-1237. (Mike Kanin)
