The Eighteenth Street Lounge and its corresponding record label, Eighteenth Street Lounge Music, have been the epicenter of D.C. hipster cool for many years now. But for one night this week, the Lounge will move its post-exotica vibe roughly due east, to 815 V St., when ESL Music artists team up for a night of music that’s more chilled-out than a bottle of frozen Boone’s: D.C. duo Thunderball will perform tracks from its recent Scorpio Rising disc, and New Yorker Ursula 1000 (aka Alex Gimeno) will preview tracks from his forthcoming album, Kinda’ Kinky. One of the Lounge’s resident DJs, dubber Desmond Williams, will spin the wheels of steel between sets, and he’ll undoubtedly play a few cuts from his upcoming CD, Delights of the Garden. Italian Nicola Conte, another Lounge fave, is also on the bill. “An Evening With ESL Music” begins at 9 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $15. (202) 393-0930. (Christopher Porter)
