WEDNESDAY
You know it’s gonna happen: You’ll show up at a dinner party and just as the red wine is desiccating your already shriveled brain, somebody’s going to bust out the Trivial Pursuit D.C. Edition and ask, “Who was the District’s mayor in 1993?” You’ll panic. Who’s our current mayor?, you’ll wonder. What’s his name? That guy with the bow tie. You saw him on television once. Is this his second or third term? Then, eureka! You’ll blurt out, “Barry. Mayorian Barry”—because for you and your ilk, D.C. history begins and ends with the one District politician you saw smoking crack on the nightly news. Well, guess what? You’re wrong. The correct answer is Sharon Pratt (Dixon) Kelly, stupid. Get a clue (and maybe someday a wedge) when First Class Inc. sponsors “Do You Know Washington, D.C.?” at 6 p.m. at First Class Inc., 1726 20th St. NW. $30. For reservations call (202) 797-5102.
