In her article on revenue estimates for the Tyson/Lewis fight (“Pick a Number—Any Number,” 3/1), Christina Larson mentions that “every self-righteous politician in town has made the standard argument against allowing Mike Tyson to square off against heavyweight champ Lennox Lewis in a D.C. venue: Tyson, they say, is an ear-chewing maniac whose criminal record and unrepentant nature make him a poor choice for the District’s red carpet.” I guess I would have more of a problem with that shameful self-righteousness if Tyson were not, in fact, an ear-chewing maniac whose criminal record and unrepentant nature make him a poor choice for the District’s red carpet.
