Cocktail has finally come to the stage—but it won’t be liquor bottles that the actors masterfully handle in this Cherry Red Production. A special Mother’s Day workshop (though unless your mum is Sharon Osbourne, I’d advise leaving her at home), this play by Rob Remy takes its title quite literally as a bartender’s wife and her friends become hooked on his new and meant-to-be-disgusting liquid creation. The secret ingredient? Well, let’s just say that the bartender’s friends/new business partners no longer have to worry about finding women who are willing to swallow—if the rigidities that come with the bar’s ensuing success don’t leave them too drained for a social life. The fun begins at 8 p.m. at the Metro Cafe, 1522 14th St. NW. $10. (202) 298-9077. (TO)
