“Miss Appropriated” (6/21) is degrading to the contestants who participated in this year’s Miss D.C. pageant. As a classmate of Miss D.C., Sarah-Elizabeth Langford, I thought the article did not speak at all to any of her many accomplishments. It reinforced my idea that the pageant is not up to par with those of our neighboring states, but as journalists you have the power to change this idea.

I would like to see an article with a positive perspective of the Miss D.C. pageant, and its winner, my friend, Sarah-Elizabeth Langford.
