In your recent coverage of the mayor’s petition problems, there is a statement made that Marie Drissel led the movement to draft Anthony A. Williams in 1998 (“The Nadir Campaign,” 8/2). That statement is wrong. Although Marie was a member of the draft movement, as was I, Paul Savage served as its chair, as well as chairing the Campaign to Elect Anthony Williams Mayor. In fact, as literature from that period will show, his home, on 32nd Street SE, served as the first office for the draft movement.
