Singing inspired lyrics about the way it is lately (“Hate Is the New Love”) and the way it’s always been (“Thee Olde Trip to Jerusalem”), the lineup of tenured Mekons gathered here delivers exactly what you’d expect: good old-fashioned utilitarian folk music. None of it will convert any new fans, but it’s this punk-rock Fairport Convention’s best work in a decade. —Todd Hitchcock
