I was incensed by Bradford McKee’s “Heist-O-Rama” story (Artifacts, 12/20). Shame on the thieves who stole from Art-O-Matic!
It takes talent, time, and courage for artists to create and show their work to the world. Art-O-Matic treats the D.C. community to a monthlong, consolidated art crawl for free. If the organizers have to hire security, it won’t be free for long.
You wouldn’t rip a Monet off the wall at the Met, and just like Monet, all artists have to get their start somewhere. Please respect their work and take just a business card if you see something you like. That’s why the cards were provided.
