It would seem that Cody ChesnuTT has too many capital T’s in has last name, too much mutton to his chops, and song titles too “So Much Beauty in the Subconscious” not to sex you up. Surprisingly, by the end of ChesnuTT’s presumptuously titled double album, The Headphone Masterpiece, any noises gurgling up from between the sheets can probably be attributed to sleep apnea. And frankly, better that the 36 tracks of sheer girth knock you out cold than have you suffer through lyrics more painful than a kick in the nuTTs. “Push my seed in her bush for life,” ChesnuTT croons seductively on “The Seed.” “It’s gonna work because I’m pushing it right/If Mary dropped a baby girl tonight/I would name her rock ‘n’ roll.” Please, Mary, do the kid a favor—tune out the strangely joyless words, ignore the lukewarm, tinny production, and think about naming the kid D’Angela. Bust a ‘nuTT when ChesnuTT performs with K’Alyn at 7:30 p.m. at the Birchmere, 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria. $15. (703) 549-7500. (Josh Levin)
