Visit DuncanSheik.com to read about the artist’s upcoming appearance at the Spring Break Lime Music Festival in Barbados. At least that’ll be warm, unlike the reception given to every Duncan Sheik album since his self-titled debut in 1996, which yielded the minor hits “Barely Breathing” and “She Runs Away.” Stupid masses: Last year’s Daylight had a near-perfect pop single in “On a High,” and Sheik is pursuing his weirdo muse magnificently, scoring an off-Broadway “antimusical” that might see the light of day this year. Tonight, he’ll appear with fellow perpetual Next Big Thing/critics’ darling/generally ignored muse Aimee Mann; expect the night to end with a rousing duet performance of “You Just Haven’t Earned It Yet, Baby,” delivered with, like, a bunch of irony and stuff. Doors are at 7:30 p.m. at the 9:30 Club, 815 V St. NW. $25. (202) 393-0930. (Andrew Beaujon)
